How FansMeetup handles your personal data

This privacy policy explains how personal data is handled on fansmeetup.com. The controller of your data is the administrator of the fansmeetup.com service, called "FansMeetup", "we" or "us" below. You can reach us about anything in this policy at [email protected].

Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), account type (creator or fan) and display name.
  • Verification data: for creators, a government ID, a live selfie and the result of the identity check; for fans, the result of the age check. Legal names are never shown to other users.
  • Booking and order data: bookings, seats, orders, briefs, messages, memberships, reports and blocks.
  • Payment data: amounts, wallet balances, receipts and payout details. Full card numbers are handled by the payment processor and are not stored by us.
  • Call data: the time and length of calls and the safety recording of each call and group session.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and security logs.
  • Messages you send to [email protected].

ID and age checks

Identity and age checks are carried out by an identity and age verification provider on our behalf. We keep the result of the check and the minimum information needed to prove that it was done. ID images and selfies are kept only as long as needed to complete the check, to meet record keeping duties for adult platforms and to handle disputes, and are then deleted.

Call recordings

Calls and group sessions are recorded for safety, and both sides agree to this before every call. Recordings are stored encrypted for a limited period and are then deleted automatically. They are opened only by authorised safety staff to handle a report or a dispute, or where the law requires it, and every access is logged. Recordings are never published and never given to the other party. Read more on the safety page.

Why we use your data

  • To create and run your account and your booking page.
  • To verify that every creator and fan is an adult.
  • To take bookings, run calls and group sessions, deliver orders and renew memberships.
  • To take payments, hold funds, return money to wallets and pay creators.
  • To keep the platform safe, filter contact details from messages, handle reports and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To send account emails such as codes, receipts, booking reminders and important changes.
  • To meet legal duties, including tax, accounting and record keeping duties.

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on these legal bases: performance of our contract with you (account, bookings, payments, payouts); legal obligations (age and identity checks, record keeping, tax and accounting); our legitimate interests in keeping the platform safe and preventing fraud (contact detail filter, safety recordings, security logs); and your consent where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising.

Who receives your data

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run FansMeetup, under contracts that limit their use of the data, and only as far as each one needs. The categories are:

  • a hosting provider that runs our servers and stores data;
  • a card payment processor that accepts adult platforms;
  • a crypto payment provider;
  • an identity and age verification provider;
  • an email delivery provider that sends account emails;
  • a video call provider that carries calls and group sessions and produces safety recordings.

Fans and creators see each other's display name and the details needed for a booking, never legal names or email addresses. We may also disclose data to authorities when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the country where you live. When data leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we use safeguards recognised by law, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

  • Account data, for as long as your account is open, and then for a short period to settle open bookings and payouts.
  • Payment, receipt and payout records, for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
  • Verification results and age records, for as long as the law requires for adult platforms.
  • Safety recordings, for a limited period, and longer only while a report, dispute or legal request about that call is open.
  • Security logs, for a limited period needed to detect and investigate abuse.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy in a portable format, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, you have the right to know what personal data we collect and how we use it, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal data in that sense. We do not treat you differently for using any of these rights. You may use an authorised agent, and we may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.

To use any of these rights, write to [email protected] from the email address on your account. We reply within the time the law gives us, normally within one month.

How we protect data

We use encryption in transit, encrypted storage for safety recordings and verification data, access limited to staff who need it, and logs of access to sensitive data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to tell you if a breach affects you.

Adults only

FansMeetup is only for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a person under 18 has opened an account, we close it and delete the data, except where the law requires us to keep it for a report to authorities.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies, such as the session cookie, a security token and your age confirmation. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Details are in the cookie policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we tell you by email about important changes.
